Volunteer Spotlight: Grace Frary

Frary shares about volunteering with the Binaytara Foundation and her passion for serving the community

Meet Grace Frary, one of the volunteers at the Binaytara Foundation! Frary recently supported our October Thoracic Oncology and Nursing Oncology Summits in Seattle, WA.

Frary is a Medical Assistant at Seattle Reproductive Medicine, and she is applying for grad school to become a Physician’s Assistant. Aside from volunteering, she enjoys spending time with friends, reading, and taking Pilates classes.

When asked about her experience at our recent conferences in Seattle, she explained, “I enjoyed how welcoming the people of the Foundation were. I am very impressed with their work in bringing healthcare to less fortunate communities.”

While volunteering, Frary had the opportunity to attend a couple of conference sessions and learn from local doctors and nurses, giving her a unique perspective and understanding of the organization. She was inspired to address healthcare disparities in her future career, and she encourages future volunteers to experience all stages of the conference, from set up and registration to general sessions and tear down.

“The mission of the Foundation impacts me because I believe that everyone should have equal access to health care. I hope to live out my career as a Physician’s Assistant one day with similar values as the Binaytara Foundation, and volunteer some of my time in assisting those with their medical needs in poorer communities.”

Grace Frary, Volunteer

Frary grew up volunteering with her family and has continued throughout college and her early career. She encourages others to be involved in the community because it is a simple way to have an impact. Frary loves giving back and supporting organizations and causes that she is passionate about, such as the Binaytara Foundation, Shirts Across America, and Ronald McDonald House.

“An organization that I hold close to my heart in terms of volunteering is Shirts Across America. For three out of my four spring breaks in high school, I traveled down to New Orleans to help rebuild homes for Hurricane Katrina victims. Losing one’s home is a major impact on one’s life and being able to help out for even a week at a time to rebuild someone’s life is truly eye-opening. I am blessed with the life I have and am grateful for the opportunity to give back and help improve the lives of those in need.”

We are grateful for Grace Frary and her amazing work with our organization and with the community! We look forward to her continued support of the Foundation.
